vBook is distributed as a free trial version. The trial version presents the follow restrictions:

• The number of records is limited to 20 per module.

If you choose to try the free demo, you can always purchase a full license at a later time by selecting the Enter Activation Code command on the vBook Help menu bar. All data registered in vBook during the trial period will be saved in case of purchase.

Purchase vBook for only €89 one time payment

This amount is to be paid only once, it is not a subscription. vBook is installed on your computer and does not require an internet connection to run.

We advise you to test vBook before you purchase it. The trial version is limited in the amount of data you can save, but it does not expire.

After the purchase, an activation code will be sent to your e-mail address, usually within 24 hours after the validation of your payment.

Sometimes, our emails do not succeed because of the internet providers's anti-spam settings. If you do not receive a message from us within 24 hours of your purchase, please contact us via our contact page. We advise you also to check your junk mail box.

Upgrade from the version 4

If you already have a user license for vBook v4, you can purchase a vBook 5 upgrade license for 49 Euros.

However, to activate vBook v5 with an upgrade activation code, you will also need the version 4 activation code. If you have lost or deleted it, contact us to receive it again.

Update to vBook v4.1.5

Due to an issue with one of the previous updates, automatic update to vBook v4.1.5 has been disabled, but you can do it manually by following the steps below.

Before proceeding with the update, we advise you to make a backup of the vBook database file using the File > Save a copy… menu. The backup file can be saved on your computer’s hard drive or on an external volume.

MacOS

1Close vBook if it is open and download the 4.1.5 update via the button below.

2Begin the installation of vBook 4.1.5 and continue the installation procedure until the end.

3Open vBook if it is not launched automatically.

When the installation is complete, vBook 4.1.5 should open automatically and begin importing your old data.

4End of the update.

If vBook import your data successfully, you will be notified that the update is done. In case of error, a dialog window will prompt you to manually localise the old database file.

5In case of error 825.

Click the button Continue on the previous (Error 825) window and localise the file named vBook_db_old.vb4, then click Open. On macOS, this file is located in Applications/vBook v4/vBook_db_old.vb4.

1Close vBook if it is open and download the 4.1.5 update via the button below.

2Begin the installation of vBook 4.1.5 and continue the installation procedure until the end.

In Windows, your system may prevent unidentified programs from installing. To proceed with the installation of the update, you must first click on More information and then on Run anyway

3If prompted, choose the vBook v4 folder to update.

4End of the update.

At the end of the installation process, after clicking the Finish button, vBook will automatically open and try to import your old data. If the following error message appears, go to the next step.

5In case of error 825.

Click the button Continue on the previous (Error 825) window and localise the file named vBook_db_old.vb4, then click Open. On Windows, this file should be located in Documents/vBook v4/vBook_db_old.vb4.
