Using Options

The Settings panel, available via the menu vCollection > Settings… of the Menu Bar, gives you access to several options, gathered under 4 tabs.

The General tab allows you to enable the automatic entry of inventory numbers, with prefixes and format definition. This tab also allows you to insert images as references* and resize them. You can also choose the parameters you wish to display; prices and artists’ names can be hidden.

* Check this option if you want to keep only a link to the image files. As long as the images are kept in the same location they were at the time of insertion, their display will be the same as for the images physically integrated in the database. If the images are moved or deleted, an error message will be displayed.

The Printing tab allows you to show or hide page numbers and print dates in templates, as well as to set a title for the templates.

The Update tab allows you to enable or disable automatic searching for updates.

Multiple selections

If you want to select multiple records manually, click records in the list while holding down the Alt key. The background of the selected records will be highlighted in yellow. Records are unselected in the same way.

You can do the same using menu Records > Un/mark Record from the Menu Bar.

A multiple selection allows you to easily isolate a set of records via the menu Records > Display only marked records. The records selected this way can be printed or deleted in a single operation.
